Nars do limited-edition palettes like no-one else and they have a hold on me. Fretting that I may miss out on the opportunity to get my paws on one, as each release is bound to be a sell-out, I practically sprinted to Space NK to pick up their latest, the Nars Virtual Domination Cheek Palette. Oh boy, it's a beauty!
There's a good reason why we're all sent into a fluster when they're launched. Just look at how beautiful that baby is! Aesthetics aside, Nars really know how to create a compact full of wearable, but exciting shades that give you a wardrobe of colour to haul around in one, handy palette. Combining some of the brand's best-selling shades and some new, exclusive kids on the block, they've put together another absolute winner. And the quality, oh the quality! If I could only pick one makeup brand to use for the rest of my life, it would be Nars and it's mostly because of their cheek creations (and base products, but we'll leave those for another time). Their blushes and bronzers are some of the best, offering strong levels of pigment, smooth textures and finely-milled shimmers. Blending like a dream, all it takes is a quick sweep and you're done. Once applied in the morning, I can guarantee that they'll last all day.
Consisting of one highlighter, three blushes, of which two are exclusive to the set, and one bronzer, this palette is all you need to sculpt your cheeks and add a touch of colour.
Miss Liberty is the most gorgeous, highlighter shade. A warming, champagne shade full of silver flecks, the sparkling result is perfect for the party season. This is quite a strong, highlight shade, giving a dewy, glimmering effect to the skin. The shimmer is definitely obvious in this one, but that's what makes it so special and a must-have for many makeup maestros.
Deep Throat is a permanent shade in Nars' blush range and it's another cult-favourite. A bright, peachy pink with golden shimmer, it's one of those shades that you just know will always look amazing on everyone. The shimmer is so finely milled that it leaves the skin with a subtle, glowing sheen.
Sex Fantasy, a soft baby pink, is limited edition. Having a blue undertone to it, the shade can look Barbie-esque, but a light dusting gives the cheeks such a healthy, fresh look. If your skin is looking a bit dull thanks to the miserable weather, this is the perfect shade to brighten your complexion. Totally matte but silky-feeling, the powder isn't at all chalky and doesn't cling to the skin, looking cakey, like some matte blushes can do.
Final Cut, a bright, matte coral orange, is the most exciting shade for me. Another exclusive to the palette, it may look scary in the pan, but on the skin, it's gorgeous. A light hand is needed with this one, unless you're after the rather fetching clown look. If you go gently, the shade just adds a hint of warmth that flatters the metallic, makeup trends of the season. I've been wearing it every day since purchasing and I'm addicted.
Of course, a Nars cheek palette wouldn't be the same without one of their famed bronzers and this one includes my favourite, Laguna. A mid-toned brown with a touch of golden shimmer, it's such a flattering shade that can be used to add a sun-kissed glow or contour the face. The added shimmer gives the skin a subtle radiance and prevents the colour from looking muddy on the skin.

Their traditional, black, rubber cases that annoyingly get dirty and scuffed after a millisecond in even the cleanest of makeup bags have been left behind to make way for one of the most beautiful palettes I've seen. The subtle, yet intricate design is so chic and has a real, winter vibe to it. This would make the perfect gift for anyone who loves makeup and I know I'd be overjoyed to unwrap this on Christmas day. At £45, this palette may seem expensive, but considering a full-size blush (costing £22.50 each) contains 4.8g of product and each blush in this palette is 4.5g, the value is mind-blowing. You even get 10g of bronzer in this palette, compared to only 8g in a full-size compact, which is usually unheard of! As all of the powders have such strong pigmentation, this palette with last for aeons, no matter how much you use it.

I've never been tempted by the NARS palettes, but you've just sold this one to me, urgh! It's a good job I don't live near a Space NK anymore as I would probably be getting it! Such amazing value as you have pointed out <3
