Now that the sun is finally shining on a regular basis and Summer is in sight, I thought I'd give you the second part of my Summer Style Wishlist - the accessories I'm eager to get my hands on.
Probably the most important, must-have accessory, both aesthetically and health-wise, is sunglasses. Although I like to keep a pair in my bag all year round, I always find myself purchasing some new frames at the beginning of the summer season. At the moment, I'm loving My Glasses Guru which have an amazing selection of brands to choose from, including Tom Ford, Ted Baker and Swarovski. When having a browse, the Tom Ford Saskia Sunglasses immediately caught my eye. The feminine, cat-eye shape is totally my style and the matte, indigo finish is more exciting than standard black.
Although I adore piling on bold, statement necklaces in winter, that's the last thing I want to do when the weather turns hot and humid. Paring back my jewellery, I always find myself wearing more rings and bracelets to compensate. Lavish Alice is one of my favourite brands for beautiful, affordable pieces and this Gold Plated Leaf Ring is right up my street. If it isn't obvious already, I'll never get bored of rose gold!
I might be trying to eat clean in the run up to my beach holiday, but that doesn't mean I can't sport junk food illustrations on my clothing, surely? The Monki Fast Food Socks may not be everyone's cup of tea, but I just love fun, quirky designs like these for casual days, to wear with trainers. They're really affordable, too!
Beach towels aren't something I usually get excited about, but the Palm & Peach Sri Lanka Beach Towel is on another level. Not only is the peacock feather print just so beautiful, but the round shape is unusual and would add a touch of glamour to beach trips or even picnics in the park, when used as a blanket.
If you've got an amazing memory and beady eye, then you may remember a Skinnydip phone case appearing in one of my previous wish lists. Well, it has adorned my phone ever since I bought it the day after posting and, since then, I've recently discovered that they have a matching Skinnydip Bee Clutch Bag. I've already been styling it with some outfits for upcoming occasions, in my head, so I'm sure it's only a matter of time before it'll find a way into my wardrobe!
Another pair of sunglasses I love from My Glasses Guru, are the Ted Baker Brannon Sunglasses. The mottled frames, subtler shape and warmer tones make them a softer option, compared to the Tom Ford pair, so I think that's a good excuse to buy both, don't you? If you're unsure about which style of specs suit you or are worried about buying online without trying them on first, then you may find the website's My Style Guru tool helpful. Taking into account your gender, face shape, skin tone and hair colour, the website presents you with some suggestions based on your answers. It couldn't be simpler to find a flattering fit!
Summer is the season when I do most of my travelling. Holidays, weekends away and special occasions all require me to squeeze my essentials into a toiletries bag and, the more I travel, the quicker they become worn. I'm definitely in need of a brand spanking new makeup bag and, with their gorgeous prints, high quality designs and range of different sizes, no brand does them better than Ted Baker. At the moment, I love every style they have on offer, but my favourite has to be the Ted Baker Florinn Pearly Petal Makeup Bag. Just look at how pretty and chic it is!
Wearing hats has never really been my thing; I just find they don't really suit me and I can't pull them off. Fortunately, floppy hats are the only type that look half decent, which is handy when you need one to keep you cool and protect your hair and face from the sun. The Genie By Eugenia Kim Cecily Hat is my first choice out of every one I've spotted so far, with its varying textures, neutral colour and black band detailing. It isn't so big that it'll swamp my face and look silly, either.
I know scarfs are something you'd associate more with autumn and winter, but with the temperamental, British weather, it's always a good idea to have a light one in your bag. I just love the coral, beige and purple colour scheme of this Pieces Pink & Grey Striped Scarf as it's so summery and the distressed pattern, woven fabric and raw edging give it a boho vibe.
Have you got your eye on any style pieces, at the moment?
