In my eyes, the goddess that is Charlotte Tilbury can do no wrong. Her entire makeup range is not only aesthetically perfect and decadently packaged, but the quality of her products is on another level. By far, my most-loved product of hers, is the Charlotte Tilbury Dolce Vita Eyeshadow Palette. All year round, come rain or shine, this is the quad I reach for most often.
The Colour Coded Luxury Eyeshadow Quads from Charlotte Tilbury are totally fool-proof. Featuring four complementing shades, you're able to simply use one shadow alone, or combine the whole set to create differing looks. Of, course, depending on your skin-tone, the shadows will look different, but Tilbury has ensured that all of her shades suit every skin colour. Not only are the shade selections swoon-worthy, but the formula is just second to none. Every shadow is buttery smooth and velvety soft, and they all blend like a dream. Despite the silky texture and cashmere feel, there's very little fall-down when you sweep them on and the pigmentation levels are really strong in just one stroke.
I know that Charlotte Tilbury used to claim that the Tom Ford Eyeshadow Quads, Cognac Sable in particular, were her favourite before she released her own line. It's obvious Tilbury has taken a lot of inspiration from the ultra premium palettes, but she's totally topped them in terms of formula. I love Tom Ford's palettes, but Tilbury's eyeshadows have a much better consistency and are more consistent in quality across the whole range.
Prime - A pearlescent oyster shade, with peachy-pink undertones to it. This is my ideal base shade, as it adds a subtle shimmer to the skin, evens-out any discoloration and instantly brightens. It creates an almost wet-look sheen to the lid when worn alone, which I love for effortless days.
Enhance - A deep reddened brown tone spattered with ultra-fine golden shimmers. For me, this shade is the real stand-out of the palette. Instead of having an overly shimmery or metallic finish, it has more of a satin finish. I love using this shade as a transition in the crease, at the outer corner, or even all over the lid and under the eyes for a quick and simple evening look.
Pop - A bright, dazzling gold shade, achieved with chunky golden glitters suspended in a clear emollient base. This one feels more like a pressed pigment, rather than a smooth powder like the other three. Thanks to the creamy consistency, the glitters smooth on to the skin with ease, to create an opaque finish if you pack it on to the lid with your finger, rather than a brush.
Smoke - A muted, olive-toned bronze that has an antiqued feel to it and more of a satin finish. I've seen a lot of people describe this as a medium brown tone, but I definitely notice a slightly green tinge when it's on my skin. It makes the shade a bit more interesting than a standard bronze and is a flattering green hint, though, so I love it!
As with all Charlotte Tilbury products, the gold and burgundy packaging is beautiful and the quads feel super luxurious. At £38, they're pretty pricey for only four shadows, especially as larger palettes from Urban Decay and Too Faced are only marginally more expensive. But, they work out as cheaper than the cost of four MAC eyeshadows, even without a palette to hold them in. Personally, I think Charlotte Tilbury's eyeshadows trump any others on the market, making them worth the extra cost. If you're a beauty lover, but don't want to splurge so much on one quad, then they're the perfect product to pop on a gift wishlist!

I'm obsessed with it! x
DeleteThis has been on the wish list for the longest time. But I can't decide between this and The Golden Goddess. Love your swatches...the shades are incredible xxx
ReplyDeleteSal | UmmBaby Beauty
I was tempted by The Golden Goddess too, but I had so many similar shades in other palettes, so decided n this one which is a bit more unique and interesting :) x
DeleteOoo, such a pretty palette & they swatch so nicely. This has officially been added to my wish list!

You should treat yourself, it's a stunner! ;) x
DeleteLets be honest here, CT is a brand that I'll always admire the products but never splurge on them for myself! The shades in the palette, I mean four shades *cough cough* look so similar to ones you can get by other brands which are cheaper. Pop is my favourite though out of them!
ReplyDeleteCharlotte / Charlotte's Picks
Yes, the shades may be similar to others you can pick up from cheaper brands, but I think the formula of Charlotte's shadows are on another level compared with any alternatives. I personally love to invest in my makeup and think CT's range is worth the premium price-point, but I understand that not everyone wants to spend so much on one product :) x
DeleteCharlotte's eyeshadow quads have been on my wishlist for a while. I don't know how I'll be able to choose one to purchase as they are all so beautiful! It's a toss up between this and Golden Goddess, I think!
ReplyDeleteHilary | The Beauty Collective
I had the same dilemma when I decided to purchase one, too! As I prefer warmer tones, and this one had that deep burgundy shade, I decided to plump for Dolce Vita in the end! x
DeleteThis looks like a great palette that could easily be for day time and quickly transformed into night time with that gold. really love that kind of palettes :D

I totally agree! You can create so many different looks with the one palette, too, depending on how you mix them up x
DeleteI've never tried Charlotte Tilbury products but you're really selling them to me! I tend to go for grungier eyeshadow shades, so the two Lime Crime Venus palettes are my go-to. I love the glamour of the shimmery shades you've swatched! xx
ReplyDeleteJessthetics
I love a bit of grunge every now and again! I'll have to check out those Lime Crime palettes, thanks for the recommendation! x

Thanks so much, I'm so happy you like it! x
DeleteI've only tried two Charlotte Tilbury products (on a count of the price!), but I love them both! I've admired the eyeshadow palettes since they launched, they're so pretty! An artist applied shadows from the Dolce Vita palette, as well as one of the mascaras, but I had an allergic reaction. I suspect this was to the mascara, but the artist seemed to think it was the pop shade. I won't know until I go back and try a palette again with my own mascara. Fingers crossed it wasn't the palette, because they're all beautiful! I hadn't realised that a CT eyeshadow palette costs less than four MAC shadows. I'm definitely more tempted to save up for one knowing that. Xx

I love absolutely everything I've tried from her gorgeous brand, but I don't have a huge CT collection either for the same reason. Such a shame that you had a bad experience when trying the eyeshadows, I know I'd be scared to try one again, just in case it was the cause! My eyes are quite sensitive and I know how painful and irritating allergic reactions can be around the eyes! x
DeleteAll them colours in that palette are stunning! Yep added that onto my wish list haha
