As well as mixing up my wardrobe and picking up some new style pieces for Spring, I also like to switch up my beauty routines. With the new season ahead, I'll hunt down any products that will boost radiance, intensify the glow factor and keep my skin as juicy and plumped as possible. With that in mind, here are the products on my radar, at the moment.
I'm yet to try any products from The Estee Edit, but I've had my eye on The Estee Edit Beam Team Hydrate + Glow since it hit the shelves. A dreamy double-duty product, there's an illuminating, hydrating lotion in the main tube and a sneaky highlighting creme in the flip cap. Fusing skincare and makeup, this product is a one-stop shop for a dewy complexion and poppin' glow! The lotion has a sheer golden-beige lustre to it, which can be used alone, or mixed with moisturiser/foundation for more of a subtle sheen. The separate touch-on concentrate will add extra intensity to the high-points of the face and will look so gorgeous in the summer sun.
Whenever there's a new limited-edition release from Nars, I'm all over it! Nothing pulls me in like their eyeshadows, so I knew I had to have the Narsissist Loaded Eyeshadow Palette. Exclusive to House Of Fraser, this is a total must-have for both die-hard Nars fans and those who have a modest makeup collection and want a travel-friendly palette that will have them covered for all eventualities. Usually with palettes, they all include at least one or two out-there shades I'd never touch, but every single one from this set is so wearable. There's also a nice mix of matte, satin and shimmer finishes in there, so it's a versatile palette that's sure to sell out quickly.
Even when the weather heats up, I love having baths in the evenings to wind-down, relax and pamper myself. But, instead of filling my tub with bubbles and bath bombs like I do during the colder months, I prefer to use simple and natural essential oils. They really help to lift my mood and nourish my skin, especially when it's feeling dry from too much sun and dips in the salty sea. Some of my favourites are the 100% Pure Neal's Yard Remedies Essential Oils, as they're organic, cruelty-free and leave out any nasties. The iconic blue bottles may be small, but the oils pack a punch in the scent stakes and a little drop really goes a long way. I'm wanting to pick up the Jasmine Absolute next, as it's one of my favourite floral fragrances for the season.
This next item may not be the most glamorous and looks a bit strange, but it's actually a Nurse Jamie Beauty Bear Age Delay Pillow. Every morning, I wake up with redness and crease marks on my cheeks from practically face-planting my pillows during the night. All of the expense I invest in my skincare routine may as well be flushed down the drain, if I'm giving myself wrinkles whilst asleep. To combat the issue, I'm intrigued to try one of these. The u-shaped pillows have a unique design which cradles your head and neck when lying on your back or side, preventing fine lines from forming. Conforming to your contours, the memory foam also provides optimum comfort and promotes a night of quality sleep.
Every beauty-addict has fallen for Glossier products since the brand launched, but their most recent release - the Glossier Cloud Paints - are hogging the limelight right now. These cream colours look absolutely divine, with a sheer seamless formula and shades that evoke the look of a gradient sunset. Those of us in the UK have been waiting patiently for Glossier to be launched here, but word on the grapevine is that their website should finally be shipping to the UK very soon. My huge to-buy list is on standby - all four Cloud Paints will be mine!
Setting spray is an essential in my makeup routine. With the amazing ability to refresh your makeup, meld everything together and prevent your base from looking dry, chalky and caked-on, I can't be without them. Throughout the day, if makeup starts to bunch up around your nose, or over dry skin, one spritz and harmony is restored. If you have oily skin, mattifying mists are ideal, but as my skin is perpetually parched, I crave as much dew as possible. Cover FX's Illuminating Setting Spray is sure to create a veil of radiance on the skin, whilst giving your makeup extra staying power. So many beauty-addicts have been raving about this spray and I can't wait to try it for myself.
I love to amp up the moisture-levels and slather my skin in oils, creams and balms when I've been spending lots of time soaking up the glorious S/S rays. My sun-scorched skin gets seriously thirsty and I like to keep everything as plumped as possible, so the Zelens Z Recovery Repair Balm sounds ideal to keep dehydration and dryness at bay. It may be extortionately priced, but Zelens is a brand that delivers results and you definitely get what you pay for, from what I've experienced. This balm is packed full of collagen-boosting ingredients and antioxidants, which work to strengthen the skin's natural protective barrier, soothe discomfort, repair damage and effectively hydrate.
BECCA are the queens of glow. Whether you prefer their liquid, powder or creme creations, they have highlighting down and their formulations are always on-point. So, it's no surprise that there's so much hype surrounding the new BECCA Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed in Prismatic Amethyst. Fancy looking like a unicorn? This is the product for you. Moving away from the predictable champagne/golden/beige shades that the beauty market is already saturated with, BECCA have creating this stunning lilac-tinted, holographic hue. On the skin, the shade shifts from a soft purple, to rose, to pale gold. Ugh, I need it!
The By Terry Glow-Expert Duo Sticks from the premium brand's Tecno Aura summer collection are another cheek product that's currently on my wishlist. Combining a blush and highlight in one handy hybrid stick, they allow you to create a quick contour and softly strobed finish, all with minimal effort. With these fool-proof sticks, By Terry have combined glow-reflecting prisms and light-corrective micro-spheres together, so you can achieve a fresh, healthy complexion easily. At one end, you have the cream stick and, at the other, there's an integrated blending brush. Definitely a makeup must-have, when traveling!
