I'm all for painting the town red and sipping cocktails in my favourite bar with friends at the weekend, but who doesn't love getting together for a good old fashioned pamper night every so often? Light some candles, have snacks and drinks at the ready, and whack on your favourite chick flicks while you all unwind. There's nothing better than going all out with your most luxurious products to leave yourselves feeling fabulous from head to toe, and I have a few trusted essentials that I always turn to when I'm planning a relaxing night in!
I always feel like a new person when I've given my body and hair some TLC, so that's how I like to start my pamper nights. Gently buffing away dead skin cells and rough patches with a pair of exfoliating gloves and a salt/sugar scrub in the shower helps to refresh and soften the skin. Following up with a luxurious body butter or oil to lock in moisture leaves your skin glowing and silky smooth. Slathering your hair in a deep conditioning hair mask is a must, too. To boost the benefits further, you could all sport a shower cap whilst the mask infuses as locking in heat helps the formula penetrate each strand more effectively.
Next up - skincare. You have to start with a clean, fresh base before layering on any lotions and potions, so cleansing is super important. One of my all-time favourite cleansers is the Fresh Soy Face Cleanser. Infused with soy proteins, rosewater, borage seed oil and cucumber extract, the water-based gel formula not only removes makeup and impurities in a flash but also leaves skin happy and hydrated. Being PH-balanced and free from harsh chemicals and fragrance, this soothing cleanser doesn't disrupt the skin barrier or strip the skin of moisture, so it's suitable for all skin types, even sensitive. The Fresh Soy Face Cleanser is a best-seller for a reason, and it's an all-round winner for a pamper night in my eyes!
A pamper night wouldn't be a pamper night without a face mask. Whether you're looking to brighten a dull complexion, hydrate dry skin or banish blemishes and blocked pores, there's a mask out there for every need. My ultimate combo when I'm wanting to really treat my skin is to use an LED mask to recreate a spa facial experience at home followed by a rich, nourishing sheet mask. Leave it on for as long as you can before it starts to dry out, and don't waste a single drop of the leftover serum in the packet!
No pamper night is complete without DIY manicures and pedicures, right? Removing any traces of old polish before shaping and buffing nails to perfection will create the perfect canvas for a fresh set of nails. If you want to rival the professional nail techs, you could even get your hands on an at-home gel nail kit to achieve a salon-worthy result. Don't forget cuticle oil and hand cream to finish!
What are your favourite products to use when hosting a self-care night for friends?
