It's been a while since I've shared a selection of my current most-reached-for beauty products, so I thought I'd give you a run-down of some favourites that have graced my dressing table as of late.

First up, we have a new addition to my perfume collection - the gorgeous and unique Lilium Blume Eau De Parfum from Thomson Carter*. This fragrance, combining essences of lily, jasmine and patchouli, is certainly floral, but richer notes give it a chic, sexy edge. Perfect for the seasonal transition from summer to autumn/winter, this fragrance achieves an ideal balance of softer femininity and intoxicating warmth. It's one of those scents that immediately boosts your confidence, so I've been wearing it religiously. Not only is the aroma of Lilium Blume captivating, it lingers on the skin all day and night. Plus, whilst everything about the Thomson Carter brand screams luxury, the scents are priced fairly considering their quality at £15 for 10ml, £50 for 50ml or £80 for 100ml.

One staple product that's an ever-present fixture in my September-February beauty routine is Chanel's Le Vernis Nail Colour in 155 Rouge Noir. Who could've guessed? The shade is a total classic and super sophisticated - a dark and glossy red-black. Chanel's nail polish formula used to have a terrible rep, however it's improved so much over the years that now a flawless finish can be achieved in only two coats with no streaks in sight. No regular nail polish lasts as well as gel, so it's no surprise that it can start to chip after three or four days of wear, but I'm so in love with the colour and shine that I'm happy to top up my manicure as needed. On my toes, it stays looking perfect until I remove it (and immediately reapply, of course). At £29.00 for 13ml, it's a real splurge, but I've never found an alternative that quite matches its brilliance.

As much as I adore the colder months for the outfits, cosy nights in, hot chocolates and all the events and celebrations, I dread the toll that the weather takes on my skin. The Biossance Squalane & Hyaluronic Toning Mist (£25 for 75ml) has been my saviour recently, helping to keep my thirsty skin happy thanks to two types of hyaluronic acid and the brand's hero ingredient, squalane. Using this toner to sandwich hydration between skincare steps is game-changing. After cleansing, I douse my face with the mist, apply my usual hyaluronic acid serum, spritz again and then follow with the rest of my routine. It doesn't disrupt your makeup if you use it over the top, either. My skin feels so much plumper and firmer when using this toner, and makeup applies seamlessly thanks to those extra layers of moisture. Although my skin hasn't reacted badly to its strong lavender fragrance, I personally hate the scent and find it unnecessary. So, as much as I adore it, this mist may not be for you if you have sensitive skin.

To avoid looking on the sickly side as my natural summer glow gradually fades, I like to give my face a hint of colour with the Tan-Luxe The Face Illuminating Self-Tan Drops. With two formulas available (Light/Medium and Medium/Dark) and by adjusting the amount of drops you apply, you can completely customise the colour intensity to suit your skin-tone and preference. The light, serum-like formula sinks into the skin easily if used alone or pairs well with any moisturiser if you prefer to dilute it prior to application. Personally, I use 4 drops mixed into my moisturiser per application to achieve a flattering, natural-looking colour. Application is fairly idiot-proof either way, but make sure to blend carefully around your hairline and ears to avoid dreaded tide lines. Washing your hands thoroughly after use is also essential, so don't forget! I prefer to use these drops in the evening as I find they do leave my skin with a slight biscuity smell after developing, even though Tan Luxe claim they don't. I initially picked up the travel-size 10ml bottle for £15, but I fully intend to snag the larger 30ml bottle for £36 as soon as I start running low.

To help me wind down recently, I've been keeping a pack of the Spacemasks Self-Heating Eye Masks* on my bedside table. These genius single-use masks are heaven to use when you're tired and in need of some relaxation, and I've been reaching for them when I've been staring at screens all day to stave off a headache as they really help to relieve tension around the eyes. They're especially fun to use during a pamper night with friends when you're wanting to go all out! As soon as you open the packet, the iron powder in the mask reacts with the oxygen in the air and heats up. The warming sensation of the mask is noticeable, but it's not too hot or irritating, and soft scent of jasmine is somewhat apparent, although it's not so strong that it's distracting when you're trying to drift off. You can get your hands on a single mask for £3.85 or a pack of five for £16.50, so they're not cheap, but they're great if you struggle with relaxation and make a perfect self-care gift.

Last but by no means least, we have the Oribe Supershine Moisturizing Cream. Like my skin, my hair needs some extra TLC once autumn rolls around after being ravaged by sun, sea and sand during the summer. This leave-in-conditioner is the best of the best. Honestly, this rich, luxurious cream is divine and does an incredible job of nourishing the hair, smoothing frizz and taming flyaways. It's thick but never weighs my hair down, whether I use it on damp or dry hair. The formula includes wheat amino acids to hydrate and the brand's signature complex to protect from heat, sun and environmental damage. Unsurprisingly, this is another Oribe product that smells incredible, and the formula's slight shimmer helps to impart a stunning lustre. A penny-sized squeeze of product is ample to nourish my long lengths, so a tube lasts for months and months, which takes some of the sting out of the high price tag (£54.50 for 150ml).

  1. This was a really good read. I’ve become a lot more health, conscious about what I put on my skin as my skin is really sensitive in the winter, and I find the mixing together the Biossance with hydration treatment and my skin feels plump & renewed
