Now that I'm in my thirties, I've really stepped up my skincare game in the hopes that I can somewhat delay the development of fine lines and wrinkles. Of course, aging is inevitable and a privilege, but I think we can all agree that we'd like to age gracefully whilst attempting to maintain a fresh, bright and plumped complexion for as long as possible. With the help of some hero skincare products and treatments (along with all the usual suspects, like trying to drinking gallons of water, etc.), I'm keeping the term prevention is better than cure in mind. One gadget that I've recently incorporated into my self-care routine, used to treat a plethora of skin concerns, is an LED light therapy mask. I've been giving the Nooance Paris Access+ LED Face Mask* a thorough road test over the past couple of months, so I thought I'd give you the low down on my results - you will definitely want to read this review!

LED light therapy has been a popular facial treatment used by many aestheticians in-house for years, so it's amazing that we can now achieve our own salon-worthy results at home with beauty devices such as this one. Nooance Paris makes some incredible claims about their Access+ LED Face Mask, but does the mask truly deliver?

Firstly, the Nooance Paris Access+ LED Face Mask contains the highest density of LEDs in the world. 198 medical-grade LEDs (with patented distribution) within the mask emit both red and infrared wavelengths, treating skin below the surface. This combination stimulates the production of collagen, fights imperfections, improves skin texture, reduces the look of scarring/wrinkles, calms inflammation and boosts circulation deep within the dermis, bringing oxygen and nutrients to cells. If you're looking for clinically-proven results, you've got them, as Nooance Paris' LED mask offers an irradiance of 45MW/CM, which is scientifically recognised to promote cellular regeneration. Not bad, hey?

In the box, you receive your mask, a charger, soft straps to secure the mask during treatment, eye guards and an instruction manual. Before you get started, it's imperative to note that you must use this mask on clean, dry skin as some skincare products may block or reduce the efficacy of the LED light, possibly rendering the treatment ineffective. Using the mask couldn't be simpler - make sure it's charged, secure the mask to your head with the adjustable straps, press the power button and enjoy. Each treatment lasts for ten minutes. Once the LED session has finished, automatically indicated by a beeping sound and the lights switching off, you simply remove the mask and continue on with the rest of your skincare routine. The mask should never get wet, so I gently wipe over it with a damp antibacterial cloth to ensure it's clean after each use, ready for my next session. The only frustrating thing about this mask is that there's no way to tell how much charge it has left, so it can stop working unexpectedly if you don't pre-empt it running out. I find that it needs recharging after roughly three uses (not much time at all, really), so I've got into the routine of charging it every other day to ensure it's always topped up.

The Nooance Paris Access+ LED Face Mask is 100% pain free to use and comfortable to wear thanks to its rigid yet flexible shell and 'pillow touch' silicone interior. I don't think the mask quite hugs the contours of my face perfectly as it isn't at all malleable around the forehead, however the lower half of the mask can be pulled tightly to the cheeks and the powerful light manages to reach every inch of the skin, including the eye contours, lips and jawline. Securing the mask to your head using the velcro straps provided allows you to multitask during treatment, however I prefer to close my eyes and relax whilst the mask works its wonders. You can attach the silicone eye guards included if your eyes are particularly sensitive, but it's not essential to do so. There's zero downtime with this treatment, too, so you can conveniently fit a skincare session into your day whenever suits you best.

We all know that consistency is key with skincare in order to achieve great results. Nooance Paris recommends using the Access+ Face LED Mask five times per week (50 minutes in total) for best results. The brand advises doubling the amount of sessions for the first month of use if you wish to specifically target stubborn redness and blemish scarring. I've made sure to keep up with this regime to get the most out of my mask, so my results are based on the recommended use of five sessions per week.

Speaking of results... I'm actually shocked at how much of a difference the Nooance Paris Access+ Face LED Mask has made to my skin in just two months. I'm sure that you'll agree from seeing the before and after photos above, this mask has made a huge difference to my overall complexion in a relatively short amount of time. The first sign of improvement I noticed, and within just a week, was a serious change in both skin clarity and firmness. My complexion looks far more even and bright, and the redness across my cheeks, chin and nose has significantly reduced. I can't really explain it, but my skin just feels more resilient, less reactive and thicker, almost. I do have some elevens lines between my brows and a few fine lines under my eyes (annoyingly worse on one side due to my preferred sleeping position!), but they've definitely diminished since using this mask religiously. As the weeks have progressed, I've really seen for myself that Nooance Paris' claims are true.

I get the odd breakout from time to time, especially around my mouth/jawline, but it's the residual red marks left behind that bother me most. They can hang about for a few months after a spot has healed, but this mask has really helped to keep active blemishes at bay whilst quickly fading any lingering post-inflammatory erythema. I've only experienced one flare up on my cheek since using the mask, whereas I would've normally expected three or four unwanted friends to have surfaced in two months. I recently suffered with some sensitivity after overdoing it with an exfoliating product that was slightly too harsh, and this mask helped to soothe and heal my compromised skin barrier in no time. Genuinely, I'm blown away by the efficacy of this mask, and it has become an absolute must in my routine to keep my skin looking as good as possible. Using the mask becomes an addiction, and the visible results really encourage you to keep up with your skincare regimen if you're someone who can be a bit lackadaisical with sticking to a self-care routine. I even take it with me when travelling to ensure I never miss a session!

I've also been using both the Nooance Paris Copper Peptides 2% and Multi-Active Hyaluronic Acid Serums* in conjunction with the Access+ LED Face Mask. The Multi-Active Hyaluronic Serum is an absolute powerhouse for the skin, containing five types of hyaluronic acid, ceramides, peptides, centella asiatica, niacinamide, beta-glucan, arginine, polyglutamic acid, alpha arbutin, optimhyal and pantheon (wow). Literally every ingredient I search for when on the hunt for effective skincare products is jam packed into this wonder serum, so it's a really great all-rounder that caters to so many skin needs. All you require is a couple of drops (I don't even use a full pipette) per application as the liquid is so concentrated. The texture of this miracle worker is so light that my skin instantly drinks it up, but I will warm you that it can be slightly messy to apply due to it being so runny. To avoid wasting any precious drops, I squeeze a tiny dot onto my finger and massage it into my skin in sections as it quickly runs off my hands or face otherwise! Despite the Multi-Active Serum appearing to be fairly watery in consistency, it leaves the face feeling like velvet, super plumped and happy. I apply the serum to damp skin in the morning, wait for it to sink in, use the Access+ LED Mask, and then follow up with the rest of my routine. It's so, so, so hydrating and comforting, and your skin feels the benefit of the serum's skin-barrier protection all day long. It's just a bonus that pigmentation and redness are treated at the same time.

In the evenings, I've been using the Copper Peptides Serum 2% to hydrate, firm and further fight any signs of aging. If you're looking to boost the anti-aging effects of your LED mask, then this serum may be the perfect accompaniment. Yes, it's bright blue, but never fear, it doesn't stain the skin or leave behind a blue tint whatsoever. Again, this serum is highly concentrated and contains a plethora of impressive ingredients - peptides galore, prebiotics, beta-glucan, hyaluronic acid and panthenol. The copper and signal peptides within the formula are absolute skincare heroes, stimulating the production of collagen and elastin and strengthening the skin's structure. They can even work to inhibit muscle contractions to proactively prevent the formation of lines and wrinkles, so this could be a great serum to try if you're considering botox but hesitant to explore injectables. I haven't yet developed a huge number of lines, so I can't fully attest to the Copper Peptides 2% Serum's ability to minimise wrinkles, however I will say that my skin definitely feels firmer and tighter since adding it into my skincare regimen. I'm hoping that all those powerful ingredients are helping to stave off any permanent creases, that's for sure!

Obviously in-salon LED devices will offer even more advanced results, but a mask such as this one is a cheaper alternative that can be used in the comfort of your home at a time that fits in with your busy schedule, no appointment needed. It's also a great tool to use between professional appointments if you want to keep up with LED light therapy treatments at home.

Of course, the Nooance Paris Access+ LED Face Mask is going to be on the costly side as it's such a technical skincare device, and I feel extremely lucky to have been gifted my mask and serums. LED face masks aren't a necessity, but I really am so impressed by my results that I would genuinely replace this mask in a heartbeat if ever I needed to. At £345, it's definitely a product for those that are serious about skincare and want to prioritise taking their skincare regimen to the next level.
